Dr. Szames grew up in Columbus Ohio. He attended The Ohio State University for his undergraduate degree. He continued in graduate school where he spent 2 years doing cancer research at Ohio State University. He then attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine where he graduated with honors. He completed his surgical residency training in Columbus Ohio with an emphasis on reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Szames brings over 3 decades of experience providing quality care and compassion to his patients. Before joining Foot and Ankle Specialists of Central Ohio, he ran the Eastside Foot and Ankle Center for over 2 decades. He currently holds staff membership privileges at Mt. Carmel East Hospital, Grant Hospital and Pickerington Surgery Center.
Dr. Szames is Board Certified by The American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a past officer in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He has been involved for most of his career educating students and residents, and fellow Podiatrists. He has lectured extensively across the country. Locally, he has been honored twice as the Podiatry Residency Educator of the Year at Grant Hospital.
Dr. Szames resides on the eastside of Columbus with his wife Linda. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his 3 children and his 5 grandchildren.
